Survey shows public opinion on Armenia’s ties with other nations

Respondents in a nationwide poll conducted by the International Republican Institute’s (IRI) Center for Insights in Survey Research (CISR) were asked to evaluate the current state of the relationship between Armenia and a number of countries. 

Most respondents said the relationship with France is very good while the relationship with Azerbaijan is very bad. 

France – 50% very good, 39% somewhat good, 6% somewhat bad, 2% very bad, 3% refused to answer.

India – 46% very good, 44% somewhat good, 4% somewhat bad, 2% very bad, 4% refused to answer.

Iran – 36% very good, 49% somewhat good, 8% somewhat bad, 4% very bad, 3% refused to answer.

EU – 19% very good, 54% somewhat good, 14% somewhat bad, 7% very bad, 6% refused to answer.

China – 19% very good, 54% somewhat good, 11% somewhat bad, 4% very bad, 12% refused to answer.

USA – 14% very good, 55% somewhat good, 18% somewhat bad, 7% very bad, 6% refused to answer.

Georgia – 15% very good, 52% somewhat good, 23% somewhat bad, 8% very bad, 3% refused to answer. 

Ukraine – 5% very good, 38% somewhat good, 27% somewhat bad, 19% very bad, 11% refused to answer. 

Russia – 8% very good, 34% somewhat good, 32% somewhat bad, 24% very bad, 2% refused to answer. 

Turkiye – 6% very good, 24% somewhat good, 26% somewhat bad, 39% very bad, 5% refused to answer. 

Israel – 2% very good, 15% somewhat good, 25% somewhat good, 43% very bad, 15% refused to answer.

Azerbaijan – 4% very good, 9% somewhat good, 16% somewhat bad, 67% very bad, 4% refused to answer.

The survey was conducted on behalf of the International Republican Institute’s Center for Insights in Survey Research by Breavis (represented by IPSC LLC). Data was collected from June 16-26, 2025 through CATI administered telephone interviews. The sample consisted of 1,505 resident citizens of Armenia and forcibly displaced former residents of Nagorno Karabakh who are now residing in Armenia (who may or may not be citizens).
