President of Cyprus says “the wall of Turkish occupation is not impenetrable”

The wall of Turkish occupation is not impenetrable, President of the Republic of  Cyprus,   Nikos Christodoulides said during an event at the Presidential Palace to mark the 51st anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, noting "we must remain serious, persistent, methodical and focused", Euronews reported.

For 51 years, President Christodoulides noted, Turkey continues its illegal military occupation of more than one third of the Republic of Cyprus, an independent, sovereign EU and UN member state and is refusing to allow access to the occupation forces' archives to ascertain the fate of the missing persons, a solely humanitarian issue, and violates fundamental freedoms and rights of the lawful citizens of Cyprus, Greek Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Maronites, Armenians and Latins.
