Brussels working towards deeper and broader partnership with Yerevan: European Council President

During a trilateral meeting in Brussels with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa said the European Union is striving for a deeper and broader partnership with Armenia.

“Brussels is working towards a deeper and broader partnership with Armenia,” Costa noted, emphasizing the EU’s intention to further develop its relations with Yerevan. “I hope this meeting could move forward our work,” he added.

Costa also referred to the recent visit of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, to Armenia on June 29–30, stressing that it indicates clear progress in EU-Armenia relations.

“This meeting will also give us an opportunity to talk about peace and other developments,” the European Council President said.
