The United States supports efforts to promote peace and stability in the South Caucasus, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce has said.

Bruce was asked at a press briefing whether the US currently has a concrete plan or proposal to support a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, given Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s latest remarks on the matter.

“Regarding the peace process, the United States supports those efforts to promote peace and stability in the South Caucasus. We also are tracking the referenced press reports in general and don’t have any additional information to share. But as you know also, I think the Trump Administration and Secretary Rubio’s approach speaks for itself, and his remarks at the cabinet meeting is that this is an administration working for peace. They will do what and go wherever they need to go. It has not waned. It is because it is the core of the commitment to making America great again is improving, of course, the condition of the world around us,” Bruce said.
