Deputy FM attends ministerial meeting on financing development for landlocked countries

Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the ministerial meeting titled “Financing a New Decade of Development for Landlocked Developing Countries”, held within the framework of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in Sevilla, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said in a statement.

In his speech, the Deputy Foreign Minister addressed the systemic vulnerabilities faced by landlocked developing countries (LLDCs), emphasizing the need for targeted actions by UN bodies to properly meet their development needs.

He underscored the importance of coordinated efforts by the international community to develop infrastructure and promote inclusive economic growth in LLDCs.

Highlighting the Avaza Action Plan, Abisoghomonyan noted that it provides a clear framework of measures and commitments to tackle the socio-economic challenges of LLDCs. He touched upon the issue of insufficient funding allocated to transport infrastructure in the practical implementation of the plan.

Reflecting on the principles of inclusive interconnectedness, open borders, and mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, the Deputy Minister presented the Armenian Government’s "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, reaffirming Armenia’s commitment to promoting peace and regional cooperation.
