The dialogue on visa liberalization between the European Union and Armenia is in an active phase, EU Ambassador to Armenia Vassilis Maragos stated during a discussion held within the framework of the EU-Armenia Civil Society Platform.
According to Maragos, this is one of the new areas of cooperation outlined in the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA). “It is very important that in July last year we decided to move forward with this dialogue. The work is ongoing,” he noted.
The EU Ambassador added that work is underway with the Armenian authorities on the development of a visa liberalization action plan, which is intended to guide sectoral reforms.
