Armenian embassies in Iran and Israel in constant contact with Armenian citizens amid escalating developments

The Embassies of the Republic of Armenia in Iran and Israel are in constant contact with Armenian citizens residing in those countries, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ani Badalyan told Armenpress.

According to Badalyan, since June 13, fifteen citizens of the Republic of Armenia have contacted the Armenian Embassy in Israel and have been provided with the requested information.

In total, around two dozen Armenian citizens have been evacuated from Israel, including a group of tourists in Bethlehem who were transferred to Egypt.

Approximately three dozen Armenian citizens have applied to the Armenian Embassy in Iran, mainly regarding their relocation to Armenia. The embassy has provided the necessary information and, depending on the situation and needs, appropriate assistance.

Since June 13, 2025, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also received evacuation requests from foreign citizens who want to leave Iran through Armenia. This applies to both members of the diplomatic staff of foreign countries operating in Iran and their family members, as well as other citizens.

The Ministry has responded promptly, providing necessary assistance, including visa support  if required.

“As you are probably aware, Indian students have been recently evacuated in accordance with an agreement between the Foreign Ministers of the two countries,” Badalyan said.

"Quick response and assistance were also provided to citizens of Kazakhstan, France, Germany, Spain, Cyprus, Austria, Norway, Switzerland, Georgia, Zimbabwe, Niger, and Sierra Leone," she added.

"Evacuations across the Armenian border have also included citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Russia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Australia, Lebanon, and others. Requests for assistance from additional countries continue to be received.

Efforts are ongoing, in cooperation with other relevant Armenian agencies and international organizations," Badalyan said.
