The Crossroads of Peace project cannot fail to be implemented, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Türkiye.
"It is only a matter of time. Whether its realization takes a little longer or happens sooner, there is no doubt that it will eventually take place,” Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister noted that the project has existed for two years, but for the first time he will present it in person to the President of Türkiye.
“This is the first time I will calmly present our program face to face with the President of Turkey,” he stated, emphasizing that before expecting a response from the Turkish side, Armenia must fully present its vision.
“First, we must introduce and explain our program, then draw conclusions based on Türkiye's reaction. I believe this initiative will indeed move forward, as our previous discussions and global developments indicate that the 'Crossroads of Peace' will be realized” he added.
The Prime Minister also addressed potential political consequences, stating that once the project is implemented, Azerbaijan may attempt to present it as the realization of the so-called “Zangezur Corridor.”
“We understand that Azerbaijan will likely say, ‘Look, the Zangezur Corridor has been opened.’ We must be prepared for that,” Pashinyan concluded.
