Pashinyan visits Armenian church in Istanbul

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has visited the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Holy Mother of God Patriarchal Church in Istanbul during his visit to Turkiye.
In a video posted on social media, Pashinyan is seen lighting a prayer candle at the church.
His delegation accompanied him during the visit.
Hrant Maskafyan, the Chairman of the church board, Minas Arslan, the deputy chairman, as well as the principal of the church’s school Claudia Temir accompanied the PM.
He visited the Armenian school and got acquainted with the educational programs and community initiatives.
Pashinyan laid flowers at the memorial of Komitas.
The Holy Mother of God church is the Patriarchal Church of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, also known as the Armenian Patriarchate of Istanbul, the autonomous see of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Pashinyan earlier met with members of the Armenian community of Istanbul.
A meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is also expected on June 20.
