Armenian PM highlights importance of upcoming meeting with Erdogan for boosting ties

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in his meeting with members of the Armenian community in Istanbul, emphasized the importance of his working visit to Türkiye, noting that it became possible thanks to the recently intensified dialogue with Türkiye. He highlighted the significance of his upcoming meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, expressing hope that it will inject new momentum into bilateral ties, according to a readout from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Pashinyan said the visit will focus on Armenia–Türkiye interstate relations, with an agenda centered on establishing relations that serve the interests of both countries. He also underlined the role of the Armenian community in Türkiye in building interstate connections and deepening dialogue.
Prime Minister Pashinyan then fielded questions from the audience, addressing his visit to Türkiye, Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization efforts, regional developments, the “Real Armenia” doctrine, and other topics.
PM Pashinyan and President Erdogan are expected to meet today in Istanbul.
