An Armenian lawmaker said the government will initiate an evacuation plan from Israel or Iran whenever such a necessity would emerge.
MP Sargis Khandanyan from the ruling Civil Contract party, the Chair of the foreign affairs committee of parliament, told reporters that so far there’ve been no reports about the need to organize evacuation of Armenians from Iran or Israel amid the ongoing airstrikes.
“I don’t have such information now. If such an issue were to emerge, I think we already have experience on providing assistance to our compatriots in various war zones or solving their problems in any way. We don’t have such reports now,” he said.
The relevant government bodies will be ready to respond to the need for evacuation, he said.
Both Iran and Israel are home to Armenian communities.
