Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process on right track, says PM Pashinyan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Friday that the peace process with Azerbaijan is on the right track and expressed certainty of a successful outcome.

During the Armenia in a Shifting World panel discussion at GLOBSEC 2025 in Prague, Pashinyan was asked whether the peace process is headed in the right course since the finalization of the draft peace treaty, which hasn’t been signed yet.

“You know, the fact that we have finalized a concrete draft already means this is an achievement. Now we need to implement the draft. Overall, I am sure that we will achieve this because we’ve been able to do a lot,” Pashinyan said.

He said there’ve been tangible results, including the progress in delimitation, over the course of the past year.

“We were able to start the process of delimitation of our border with Azerbaijan. At this moment, approximately 12 kilometers of the border is delimitated. Many were approaching this process with tensions and pessimism, but today we have a very concrete example. It is a border with security guarantees, and that’s the reality,” Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan repeated what he described as a motto he adopted, “There will be no war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, there will be peace.”
