Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed hope for a swift signing of the peace deal with Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the Armenia in a Shifting World panel discussion during GLOBSEC 2025 forum in Prague, Pashinyan reiterated Armenia’s commitment to achieve sustainable peace in the region.
Pashinyan was asked whether the world has become more dangerous today. In response, Pashinyan said politicians’ main function is to make steps to improve the situation.
“That’s exactly why our government is focused on the peace agenda in our region. In present days, everyone seeks security, but the truth is that only peace can ensure reliable security,” Pashinyan said.
He reminded that the terms of the would-be peace treaty with Azerbaijan have been finalized and the document awaits signature.
“The draft agreement is finalized and awaits its signing. We are now at the phase of consultations with Azerbaijan to understand how to implement the signature and further ratification. We continue that process and we hope to achieve a result as soon as possible,” the Armenian PM said.
