A passenger of the Air India flight that crashed today in Ahmedabad miraculously survived, Hindustan Times reported.

The report identified the sole survivor as 40-year-old Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a British national who was in India for a few days to visit his family.

“Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly,” Vishwash, who received “impact injuries” on his chest, eyes and feet, told HT.

He was in seat 11A.

An Air India passenger plane bound for London with more than 240 people on board crashed into a medical college after takeoff Thursday in the northwestern city of Ahmedabad, India.
