Russian foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has accused NATO of seeking to destabilize the South Caucasus region.

She was asked to comment on the intensifying cooperation between NATO and Azerbaijan.

Zakharova said at a press briefing that NATO “hasn’t brought anything good” for the South Caucasus security.

She said NATO’s goal is to destabilize the region.

“We hope both Baku and Yerevan understand our fundamental concern and fully assess the risks pertaining to the consequences of deepening such cooperation,” she said.
