Apartment gas explosion death toll reaches 4

The death toll in the small town apartment explosion in the Gegharkunik province has reached 4 after rescuers recovered the body of a man from the rubble, the rescue service has said.

The gas explosion in a residential building in the town of Chambarak caused a collapse. 11 people were hospitalized.

4 of the hospitalized persons are children.

The Investigative Committee launched a criminal investigation into the blast. It suspects the cause to be linked with violation of safety requirements while performing works or provision of services.
