New subway station plan given go-ahead, says Yerevan Mayor

A state examination has approved the engineering plan of the Ajapnyak metro station that is supposed to become the 11th station of the Yerevan subway, Mayor Tigran Avinyan has announced.
He said the blueprints have received a positive conclusion of a state comprehensive examination.
This means the process now enters the next stage, which implies the approval of complete funding by the government and preparations for construction bidding.
The new station is supposed to extend the metro network to Ajapnyak district in the city’s northwest via Barekamutyun station.
