Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan described Armenian–Russian relations as very healthy and partnership-oriented.
“Our relations and obligations are defined on paper, and we are working to ensure that these mutual commitments are fully implemented. In other words, we strive for the full implementation of our agreements,” Mirzoyan said in the National Assembly.
He also highlighted that beyond formal agreements, the two countries share close ties, including within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), where Armenia’s participation is highly beneficial.
Mirzoyan noted that, indeed, not everything is “smooth” or “cloudless”.
“There are problems and essential issues where the Russian side has its own position and understanding of the events, and reasons for how things turned out. For us, the truth is entirely different. The positions are well known, and we manage to live with these differences. We see fault on their side in some matters, they may see fault on ours. We are convinced, for instance, that we are right,” Mirzoyan noted.
Despite these disagreements, he emphasized that there are many areas of agreement and normal cooperation between the parties.
“These are healthy relations, and I believe any relationship should be like that,” the foreign minister added.
