Minister Khudatyan, U.S. Department of Energy official discuss deepening Armenia-U.S. nuclear energy cooperation

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia, David Khudatyan, on Wednesday received a delegation led by Aleshia Duncan, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Nuclear Policy and Cooperation at the U.S. Department of Energy. U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien was also among the delegation members.

According to a readout issued by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Minister Khudatyan welcomed the guests and thanked the U.S. government for its continued support to Armenia’s energy sector.

He expressed particular gratitude for the state-of-the-art simulator recently installed at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant with U.S. government funding.

Minister Khudatyan highly valued the cooperation with the American side in the field of nuclear energy. Both parties reaffirmed their mutual willingness to further deepen collaboration.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to Armenia-U.S. energy cooperation were discussed, including in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
