During his visit to Japan, the Armenian Vice Speaker of Parliament Hakob Arshakyan met with Member of the House of Representatives, Head of the Japan-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group Shunichi Suzuki.
During the meeting the sides underscored the importance of the active work of the parliamentary friendship groups, the parliament’s press service said in a readout.
Arshakyan said that the Armenian pavilion at the Expo 2025 world expo in Osaka will feature an event dedicated to the national day. Arshakyan expressed hope that Shunichi Suzuki will attend the event.
Vice Speaker Arshakyan said that an Armenian delegation is expected to visit Japan and the heads of the parliamentary friendship groups will have the chance to meet. A discussion about a possible Japanese parliamentarians’ visit to Armenia was held.
Legislator Suzuki attached importance to the current level of cooperation with Armenia and highlighted the significance of the opening of the TUMO center in Japan.
He expressed readiness to provide support for the Armenian peace agenda in the region.
