Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has appointed Aram Ghazaryan as the new national police chief and deputy interior minister, replacing Major-general Aram Hovhannisyan, who was sacked on June 2.
The appointment decree was published online by the government.
Ghazaryan served as Governor of Lori province since early 2024 until his resignation on June 2 this year, when he announced plans of assuming a new role without elaborating.
