Prime Minister fires national police chief

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has fired Police Chief, Deputy Interior Minister Aram Hovhannisyan.

The dismissal decree was published by the government.

Major-general Hovhannisyan, who was police chief and deputy interior minister since 2023, was dismissed not only from his position but overall the police ranks.
