The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant will be halted for a 60-day planned maintenance, a senior executive of the plant has said.
“The plant will be halted for 15 days more than the standard timeframe because parallel with ongoing repair work the automated systems of the turbine section, and the safety system of generators and transformers must be replaced,” Sputnik Armenia quoted Movses Vardanyan, First Deputy Director-General of the Nuclear Power Plant as saying during Russian Ambassador Sergey Kopyrkin’s visit to the facility.
The plant will be put on halt at midnight May 15.
“In addition, the low-voltage emergency shutdown system will also be replaced,” he added, referring to the 6 and 0,4 KW system.
