Cabinet approves ratification of tax treaty with Japan

The government of Armenia, during the May 8 Cabinet meeting, endorsed the ratification of the convention on double tax avoidance between Armenia and Japan. 

The agreement, titled the Convention on Elimination of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance between Armenia and Japan was signed in December 2024.

The government of Armenia’s 2021-2026 program mentions that it will seek to expand the geography of tax treaties with the purpose of developing international trade-economic ties.

The convention will be sent to parliament for ratification.
