SlavMed Eye Microsurgery Center is among the best – Dr. Rajshree Arora

Rajshree Arora, ophthalmologist, MD, Professor and Director at Nishtha Retina Centre, and Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, MD, PhD, Professor of the Department of Eye Diseases at Tver State Medical University, arrived in Armenia to participate in the Third International Conference of the Armenian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ArSCRS).

During their visit, the professors were hosted by SlavMed Medical Center to learn about the operations of SlavMed's Eye Microsurgery Center.

Accompanied by Armine Hovakimyan, Founding Director of SlavMed Medical Center, and Vahe Nanyan, Head of the Eye Microsurgery Center, the guests toured the facility and were introduced to its latest equipment, advanced techniques, and implemented technologies.

According to Vahe Nanyan, Founder-President of ArSCRS and Head of SlavMed’s Ophthalmic Microsurgery Center, such visits are of mutual significance.

“We were pleased to host our colleagues in Armenia, especially in the context of the conference and at SlavMed. These visits offer a valuable opportunity to exchange experience, knowledge, and skills for both our team and our colleagues from India. It is important for us to demonstrate to our international partners that ophthalmology in Armenia is well-developed and that our approaches meet international standards,” he said.

Sharing her impressions, Rajshree Arora noted: “SlavMed stands out with its cutting-edge equipment and a team of professionals who possess exceptional human qualities. This is an important factor in our work, as compassion and care for patients are essential in creating a comfortable and trustworthy environment.”

Hovhannes Hovhannisyan also expressed his appreciation for Armenia’s progress in the field: “Ophthalmology is developing rapidly in Armenia, which is both gratifying and encouraging for us as specialists. Medical innovation is constant, and such visits and events are essential to keep these developments in focus.”

Rajshree Arora was also impressed by the level of engagement and enthusiasm at the conference.

“It is inspiring to see the active participation of Armenian ophthalmologists in such events. The number of attendees grows each year, and especially young specialists are showing great interest in various subspecialties. This trend suggests that the quality of ophthalmological care in Armenia will continue to improve,” she added.
