Crowds gather at St Peter's Square for Pope Francis's funeral

Hundreds of thousands of people flocked to St. Peter's Square for the funeral Mass for Pope Francis that is currently underway.

A host of world leaders, including current and former US Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Germany's Olaf Scholz, France's Emmanuel Macron, and Britain's Prince William are in attendance, Vatican News reported.

His Holiness Garegin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has departed for the Vatican to attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday.

The pope's coffin will be carried to a church outside the Vatican at the end of the funeral Mass which is set to last 90 minutes.

250,000 people are estimated to have paid their respects to the pope as his body lay in state inside the St. Peter's Basilica from Wednesday until Friday.
