FM Mirzoyan, PACE President discuss Armenia–Council of Europe cooperation, regional and international issues

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met on Wednesday with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Theodoros Roussopoulos.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed Armenia–Council of Europe cooperation. Both sides commended the progress achieved as a result of the democratic reforms implemented by Armenia.
Foreign Minister Mirzoyan and PACE President Roussopoulos emphasized the importance of upholding democratic values. Minister Mirzoyan highly appreciated the principled positions expressed by PACE and other Council of Europe bodies on issues related to Armenia.
The parties also exchanged views on regional and international matters.
Minister Mirzoyan briefed his counterpart on the latest developments in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, stressing that the signing of an agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between the two countries would be an important milestone in achieving peace in the region.
