Iran ready to support Armenia-Azerbaijan peace, says Deputy FM

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has emphasized Tehran’s commitment to good-neighborliness and its willingness to assist Armenia and Azerbaijan in reaching a deal, Tehran Times reports.

The Iranian Deputy FM highlighted the agreement's importance for regional stability and urged both countries to focus on the future, stating the document is ready for immediate signing. He condemned any violations of territorial integrity, stressing that military force should not be used to occupy another nation's territory.

He called for regional cooperation based on mutual respect and international law to secure a peaceful future.

On March 13, Armenia and Azerbaijan concluded the talks around the terms of the peace agreement. Armenia immediately expressed readiness to sign the treaty as soon as possible and offered Azerbaijan to start talks on choosing a venue and date, but Baku has been stalling the process by making new preconditions and spreading fake news.
