Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon, on April 16 in Yerevan, lauded Armenia’s EU aspirations and expressed readiness to support the process.
Fajon made the remarks at a joint press conference with Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan.
She said she discussed with Mirzoyan in detail Armenia’s aspirations to join the EU. “Slovenia, as an EU member state, has many years of experience. I highly appreciate Armenia’s aspirations to join the EU,” she said.
The adoption of the EU bill is Armenia’s sovereign decision and Slovenia encourages Armenia to continue its path of democratization and anti-corruption work, she added.
Fajon said the EU accession is a difficult process.
She expressed readiness to support Armenia’s reforms.
The Armenian parliament adopted in March the bill on EU integration.
