Armenia’s Alexandra Grigoryan wins silver at European Weightlifting Championships

Armenian weightlifter Alexandra Grigoryan has become the silver medalist of the European Championships. Izabella Yaylyan placed 6th.
At the European Weightlifting Championships in Chișinău, the current European champion in the 55 kg weight category, Alexandra Grigoryan, had one successful attempt in the snatch, lifting 85 kg and placing 6th in this exercise. In the clean and jerk, Grigoryan lifted 117 kg in one successful attempt, winning the gold medal in this event. With a total of 202 kg in the combined event, Grigoryan became the silver medalist of the European Championship.
Armenian national team member Izabella Yaylyan had three successful attempts in the snatch, lifting 85 kg, 88 kg, and 90 kg, and placed 5th in this exercise. In the clean and jerk, Yaylyan had only one successful attempt, lifting 103 kg, and finished 8th in this discipline. With a total of 193 kg, she placed 6th overall.
On April 14, Garnik Cholakyan (61 kg) will also compete at the European Championships.
