President Vahagn Khachaturyan has released a statement congratulating women on the occasion of April 7.

The day is celebrated in Armenia as Annunciation Day of Saint Mary and Day of Motherhood and Beauty.

“Dear Women, dear Mothers, I sincerely congratulate you on the Annunciation Day of Saint Mary, Holy Mother of God, and the Day of Motherhood and Beauty. This day holds deep meaning, it reminds us of the moment when humanity received the good news that brought the gift of life and the hope of salvation. In the image of Saint Mary, our people have seen for centuries a symbol of maternal devotion, humility, and strength. April 7 is not only a celebration for us, but also a day of gratitude—towards you, our mothers and women. Your love, care, and strength—both within the family and in public life—are among the cornerstones of our state’s resilience and harmony. The maternal image also holds a special place in the shaping of our identity. We call our homeland, our language, and our city “Mother” because it is the mother who gives life, roots, and continuity. Dear women, mothers, and sisters, May this holiday bring you peace, warmth, and love. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you health, happiness, and boundless strength—to protect and love your families, and to look to the future with faith,” Khachaturyan said in the statement published by his office.
