Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan has met with President of the External Relations Section of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) Dimitris Dimitriadis.
Sargsyan and Dimitriadis attached importance to the continuous cooperation in the direction of developing Armenia-EU relations and agenda items.
A number of issues pertaining to the ongoing reforms in the labor and employment sector, the role of unions and reduction of unemployment rate were discussed, the ministry said in a readout.
Speaking about sectoral priorities, Sargsyan presented the 2025-2031 Employment Strategy and the priorities and action plan defined in the 2024-2040 Strategy for Improvement of Demographic Situation. He also presented details about the major reforms carried out in the labor code, the growing role of social partnership and the work carried out as part of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
