Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has backed the idea of creating a European military that would ensure peace in the region.
Speaking in the Spanish parliament’s lower house, Sanchez spoke about what he described as a difficult geopolitical situation around the world due to, among others, Trump’s return to the White House.
“Today we are facing a new crisis…What should we do? We must create a European army, the community’s armed forces with participation of 27 countries, led under one flag and the same interests. That’s the only way for us to become a real union and ensure sustainable peace in our region,” he said, according to TASS news agency.
