Armenia, Iran close to resolving diesel fuel price issue for cargo transport

Armenia and Iran are close to resolving the problem pertaining to the increase of diesel fuel for cargo trucks on the border, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has said.
Mirzoyan was asked at a joint press conference with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi whether they discussed during their meeting this issue. “Work has been done in that direction, an expert group conducted the work. We have an approximate formula that would offer certain simplifications and convenience for cargo transport, drivers of both countries. We are now very close to finalizing it,” Mirzoyan said, adding that more information will be made public when the issue is resolved.
In turn, FM Araghchi said that during the meeting with FM Mirzoyan they concurred that the road must be easy for cargo trucks and drivers, and expenses must be reduced, in order to intensify cargo shipments between the two countries.
