Economic activity index grows 4,1% in January-February

The economic activity index in the first two months of 2025 grew 4,1% compared to the previous year’s same period, according to data released by the Statistical Committee.
The growth in February was 5,3%, and 1,5% year-on-year. The YoY growth in January was 7,1%.
The economic activity growth was mostly contributed by the growth in services, excluding trade, and construction. The growth in these sectors in the reporting period was 12,4% and 12,2%.
The volume of services in the first two months of the current year was 556 billion 120,3 million drams.
Construction volumes comprised 44 billion 648,1 million drams.
Trade grew 7,8% and stood at 822 billion 658,3 million drams.
The consumer price index and the industrial product price index increased 2,1% and 2,2% respectively.
Electricity production increased 6,9%, totaling 1 billion 703,6 million kWh.
