Armenia prepares with enthusiasm for the 10th Games of Francophonie – Foreign Minister issues message on International Day of Francophonie

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has sent a message on the occasion of the International Day of Francophonie, noting that Armenia is already preparing with great enthusiasm for the 10th International Sports and Cultural Games of Francophonie, which will be hosted in Yerevan from July 23 to August 1, 2027.

“This exceptional event will not only strengthen Armenia’s friendly ties with Francophone countries, but will also significantly contribute to the spread and strengthening of the French language in Armenia.”

According to the foreign ministry, the message reads: "As per a long-standing tradition, today, March 20, we celebrate the International Day of Francophonie.

Through the efforts of Armenian state structures, communities, embassies of Francophone countries, Francophone NGOs, universities, schools, theaters, libraries, and cultural centers, hundreds of events will take place across the country, honoring the French language and uniting around the values that nurture Francophonie: cultural diversity, peace, democracy, and human rights.

This event once again proves that language is not just a means of communication; it is a bridge that unites nations, sowing mutual respect and friendship. In recent years, our cooperation with the International Organization of La Francophonie has gained new momentum, which we happily noted during the summit held in Villers-Cotterêts in October 2024, under the presidency of France.

 Armenia attaches special importance to the implementation of the provisions of the declaration and other documents adopted during that important gathering of heads of state, in order to strengthen linguistic and cultural diversity, increase the role of youth, as well as promote the early resolution of conflicts and the consolidation of peace in the Francophone region.

Today, our country is already preparing with great enthusiasm for the 10th International Sports and Cultural Games of Francophonie, which we will host in Yerevan from July 23 to August 1, 2027. This exceptional event will not only strengthen our friendly ties with Francophone countries, but will also greatly contribute to the spread and strengthening of the French language in Armenia. I wish a good start to the next two months of Francophonie in Armenia and wish high spirits and many memorable moments to all French speakers and bearers of Francophonie values, both in our country and around the world."
