The Cabinet approved on Thursday Artur Nahapetyan’s candidacy as the new head of the Anti-Corruption Committee.
He was nominated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The position was vacant since November 2024 when Sasun Khachatryan resigned.
Pashinyan had earlier said he held separate meetings with all three candidates for the position who had passed the interview phase, Petros Martirosyan, Artur Nahapetyan and Gevorg Kocharyan.
“As a result of discussions, I have decided to nominate Artur Nahapetyan’s candidacy to the Cabinet’s approval for the position of Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee,” Pashinyan said on social media, adding that Nahapetyan was the leading candidate with integrity and overall scores in the competition.
