Armenia looks into Italian experience in crime prevention strategy

Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia Arpine Sargsyan has met with Italy’s new Ambassador Alessandro Ferranti.
Sargsyan said that the new Italian Ambassador to Armenia will have an important role in developing cooperation between the two countries.
The sides discussed the experience of cooperation and opportunities in the law enforcement sector, particularly in terms of formation of the Police Guard and other directions.
The minister said that Armenia will soon develop a crime prevention strategy, and given Italy’s experience she proposed to enhance cooperation in that area.
The visa liberalization issues and cooperation in migration sector were also discussed.
The minister and the ambassador, highlighting the importance of strengthening partnership, expressed willingness to develop partnership in the law enforcement sector through exchange of experience and joint projects.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
