US Customs and Border Patrol team has not arrived in Armenia yet

The planned visit of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection team to Armenia has not taken place, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia Rafael Gevorgyan told Armenpress in response to an inquiry.

"We would like to inform you that the planned visit of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection team to Armenia did not take place," he stated, without providing further details regarding the yet-to-be-realized visit.

During the signing ceremony of the Strategic Partnership Charter between Armenia and the United States in Washington on January 14, 2025, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that a U.S. Customs and Border Protection team would travel to Armenia in the coming weeks to support the development of border security capabilities.
