Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Ambassador of Estonia discuss development of cooperation

Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan has held a meeting with the Ambassador of Estonia to Armenia Marge Mardisalu-Kahar.
Minister Andreasyan attached importance to the development of cooperation between the two friendly countries and the opportunity of joint initiatives in education, science, culture and sport for the benefit of strengthening bilateral ties, the ministry said in a readout.
Underscoring the existing cooperation, the minister touched upon the activities of Estonia’s international cooperation center (ESTDEV) in Armenia.
She highlighted the pilot program, carried out jointly with ESTDEV, on teacher training in Kapan schools, as part of which the teachers visited Estonia to get acquainted with educational programs, experience and management models. Separate trainings were held for Lori’s COAF SMART teachers.
The minister presented the ongoing major education reforms, stressing that the experience of international partners is of great significance for effective reforms.
Andreasyan proposed to consider the opportunity to develop cooperation between universities and implement joint educational-research programs, including bilaterally and multilaterally as part of Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe programs.
The possibility of intensifying cooperation in joint cultural projects was also discussed. Andreasyan suggested to consider the joint filmmaking programs given the cash rebate possibility.
The cooperation in areas of museums, literature and arts, as well as direct cooperation between choral organizations of the two countries was also discussed.
The Estonian ambassador underscored that her country’s government has increased focus on Armenia by including it among partner-countries of priority development. She expressed readiness to expand the circle of projects for development of cooperation. In this context high-level bilateral visits were underscored. Other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
