Russia, US to establish dialogue on ways to resume cooperation in energy, space

Russia and the US have reached an agreement to establish dialogue on approval of ways to resume cooperation in the economy, including energy and space, according to a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry following Russian-American consultations in Riyadh, Tass reports.

"Agreements have been reached to establish dialogue on approval of ways to resume cooperation in the economy, including energy, space and other areas of mutual interest," the statement reads.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues, including prospects of normalization of bilateral relations, the ministry said.

The Russian and US delegations held talks in Riyadh earlier on February 18. Russia was represented at the meeting, which lasted 4.5 hours, by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov and Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev.

On behalf of the United States, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, national security adviser Mike Waltz and special envoy for the Middle East Stephen Witkoff attended the talks.
