President of the European Council welcomes Armenia’s peace efforts

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of the European Council António Costa discussed during their meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, opportunities for unblocking regional connections, as well as the Crossroads of Peace project. 

A readout published by the Armenian Prime Minister’s Office said António Costa attached importance and welcomed the Armenian government’s steps and initiatives aimed at peace.

PM Pashinyan and António Costa discussed several issues pertaining to the Armenia-EU cooperation agenda. 

The Armenian Prime Minister attached importance to continual EU support to consistently advancing democratic reforms in Armenia. Pashinyan said that the complete implementation of reforms is a priority. PM Pashinyan said Armenia attaches importance to expansion and development of multilateral ties with the EU with the purpose of capacity building in various areas.

President of the European Council António Costa welcomed the Armenian government’s steps aimed at strengthening democracy and implementing institutional reforms. He expressed EU’s commitment to strengthen the partnership based on common values and deepen cooperation in all areas.
