The return of illegally acquired property must be carried out through legal mechanisms and procedures, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a Q&A session with Cabinet members in parliament. He stated that the government has established a state institution responsible for the continuous confiscation of illicit property, regardless of the political leadership.
"We have a system for confiscating illegal property, confiscating system within protecting state interests and a system for safeguarding community interests. We have also created an institution for nationalization," Pashinyan noted.
According to the Prime Minister, $1.5 billion worth of property is currently under seizure, and can not be taken out from Armenia.
