The United States will continue providing foreign aid, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said amid the reorganization of USAID.
“The United States will be providing foreign aid, but it is going to be foreign aid that makes sense and is aligned with our national interest,” Rubio said at a press conference in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He said the suspension of USAID aims at revealing projects that are not in US interests. The US will provide waivers for some specific programs to continue.
