PM Pashinyan holds meetings in Washington, D.C.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Chairman of the commission between the World Council of Churches and the Vatican Archbishop Vicken Aykazian and Rev. Fr. Hovsep Karapetyan, pastor of the St. Mary Armenian Church in Washington, D.C.

Diaspora affairs were discussed at the meeting. The Prime Minister attached importance to consistent steps in the direction of preservation of language and culture in the Diaspora, emphasizing the significance of state support in this issue.

An exchange of ideas took place around strengthening the ties between Armenia and the Diaspora.

The Prime Minister then met with Nahigian Strategies CEO Keith Nahigian to discuss issues pertaining to the development of Armenia-U.S. relations. The government’s priorities were touched upon and the implementation of the balanced and balancing foreign policy was highlighted.

Pashinyan also met with the leadership of the Armenian Assembly of America. The development of the Armenia-U.S. relations was discussed. PM Pashinyan said that the recently signed strategic partnership between the two countries allows new opportunities for development of bilateral ties. He expressed hope that the Armenian Assembly of America will continue its efforts to expand ties.

Ideas were exchanged around the Real Armenia ideology, as well ensuring peace and stability in the region.
