The Armenia-Georgia relationship recorded tangible progress in 2024, Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan said Thursday at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart Maka Botchorishvili in Yerevan.

“We signed a document on strategic partnership, in 2024 we officially became strategic partners. Of course, we must admit that our relationship both between the two countries and the two peoples always had a strategic partnership nature for centuries, but this new document creates new opportunities in the political, economic, educational, scientific and humanitarian areas,” Mirzoyan said.

He said the meeting with Botchorishvili focused on the 2024 achievements and upcoming tasks.

Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia and Georgia maintain effective political dialogue on various levels, as well as stable and productive cooperation between the foreign ministries.

Issues pertaining to regional cooperation and transit shipments were also discussed.

“We can’t not mention the huge potential South Caucasus has, including Armenia and Georgia. Of course, when we speak about transit through South Caucasus we must also mention Azerbaijan,” Mirzoyan said.
