President Khachaturyan meets Indian Ambassador, congratulates India on Republic Day

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan on Monday received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha, on the occasion of the National Holiday of India, Republic Day.
According to the Presidential Office, Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated the Ambassador and the Indian people on the occasion of the national holiday, wishing peace and prosperity. The President noted that Armenian-Indian relations have a centuries-old history, which currently continue to develop in all directions. “Cooperation with India is one of the priority directions of Armenia’s foreign policy,” the President noted.
The Indian Ambassador, in turn, expressed gratitude for the meeting and the best wishes. "Indeed, the cooperation between our countries is growing and has great potential for development," the Ambassador noted in her speech.
During the meeting, the current state and development prospects of Armenian-Indian multifaceted relations were discussed. The parties paid special attention to the opportunities for expanding cooperation in high technologies, education, defense, and other fields.
President Khachaturyan reinforced Armenia's commitment and clear position in establishing sustainable peace in the region.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized bilateral efforts to boost trade and economic contacts between Armenia and India.
According to the statement, the parties also expressed their willingness to promote the progress of contacts between the business environments of the two countries as much as possible through the introduction of joint business forums and other formats.
