Armenia is interested in deepening cooperation with the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) countries for several reasons, said Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at the panel discussion entitled "Together for Peace and Democracy" taking place in Yerevan.
Mirzoyan noted that the reasons are very transparent and very straightforward.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that the NB8 are among the countries where democratic institutions are the strongest, the most institutionalized, the most established, where human rights are the most protected, where societies uphold the values of democracy and freedom, and where societies understand the dangers and risks that global democracy faces today.
"Secondly, the Nordic-Baltic Eight are perhaps one of the most wonderful examples of regional partnership and cooperation for us. In both of these respects, we have a lot to learn, and I hope we also have something to give," the FM noted.
