Next court hearing on former Nagorno-Karabakh leaders' case scheduled for Jan. 27

The open preparatory court session for the falsified criminal case against former Nagorno-Karabakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, along with other accused individuals, continued at the Baku Military Court.

According to Azerbaijani media, during the trial, chaired by Judge Zeynal Aghayev, Armenian-language translators and attorneys were provided to the former high-ranking officials of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The next court session for the "case" of the former military and political leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh will take place on January 27, during which decisions on the motions will be announced.

Azerbaijan has illegally arrested former Nagorno-Karabakh Presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, former MP Davit Ishkhanyan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Babayan, former Minister of Defense Levon Mnatsakanyan, former Deputy Minister of Defense Davit Manukyan, and former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan on trumped-up charges. 

False charges have also been brought against Vasily Beglaryan, Erik Ghazaryan, Davit Alahverdyan, Gurgen Stepanyan, Levon Balayan, Madat Babayan, Garik Martirosyan, and Melikset Pashayan.
