BTA. Sculptures by Hary Arabyan to Go on Display at Nuance Art Gallery on Jan. 21

Artworks by sculptor Hary Arabyan will be on display at Sofia’s Nuance Art Gallery between January 21 and February 9, the organizers of the event said.

Commenting on Arabyan’s works, art critic Boris Danailov said: "Recognizable for his work with glass and metal, his distinctive style and unique technical capabilities allow him to create objects from seemingly untameable materials."

"An established artist, Hary Arabyan presents new works of his characteristic high quality and captivating strength at the Nuance Art Gallery. The sculptor is a master of intricately organized artistic matter, encompassing diverse materials—stone, metal, glass, bone, and combinations thereof. At the same time, he brings sculptural decisiveness and clear form to the development of narrative lines related to mythology, biblical parables, or interpretations of themes derived from works by Bruegel or Simone Martini. This time, as it is his third exhibition at the Nuance Art Gallery, he once again captivates the audience with pieces that seem like raw fragments of primordial matter, as if extracted from an inaccessible place known only to the artist," Danailov explained.

Hary Arabyan was born on January 19, 1959, in Burgas (on the Black Sea). In 1992, he graduated in "Sculpture" from the National Academy of Arts in the class of Prof. Lyuben Prahov. He has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in almost all collective art exhibitions organized by the Union of Bulgarian Artists. Arabyan is the creator of the monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Burgas. His works are part of the collection of the National Art Gallery in Sofia and private collections in Bulgaria, France, Belgium, Israel, the USA, Germany, Canada, Italy, the United Kingdom, among others.
